Part Five: The Journey, and Eltyesen
Now we're going to travel a little further and eventually go on to reach Eltyesen itself. This journey will also
allow us to explore through our thoughts and spirits from a more positive and proactive starting point.
1. Dispersing
It all begins by re-using the breathing and relaxation technique we used earlier on back in Section Two. So find somewhere
where you can sit in relative peace and quiet, and then just slowly go through the counted breathing patterns as we did
before. Silently count to four as you breathe in, then hold the air inside for a count of two, and then breathe out again
over a count of four. Repeat this process until you start to feel a sense of calm and silence, and when you get there just
let yourself relax in amongst it all for a few moments.
But this time, rather than simply enjoying the peace and stillness, slowly try to start feeling outwards into the
space around you.
Not with your hands or your eyes, but with your sense of yourself as you calmly reach out into the silence and
emptiness. As you do this you may begin to feel a subtle sensation similar to floating, or even drifting gently across a calm
body of water.
You might also begin to get a sense of your own non-physical form and shape while you are here, almost visualizing
what you are made up of in contrast to the relative emptiness of your surroundings. This is not the physical "you" that is
currently sat quietly in a spare room or outside, it is the spiritual and ethereal "you" that is calmly at peace within the
space of your own thoughts, and ready to start looking into what might also be around and ahead of you.
What is really interesting about this technique is that pretty much everybody who trys it ends up having very similar
experiences, which they have described to us as follows. Simply put, if we are able to almost "see" the inner "thought space"
versions of both ourselves and the rest of the world with just our senses and feelings, then that means we can also
eventually start to sense our personal emotions, memories and even abstract thoughts as more tangible elements that
we can almost physically "feel" and then, by definition, begin to explore.
Something that many people have told us they can find when they're here are their inner-held feelings of stress or emotional
upset. We often hear it described as resembling "a sort of ball" of tangled-up negative emotions and anguish.
The good thing about this is that if we are able to feel and sense our bundle of negative feelings in this
near-physical way, then that means we can also think of ourselves taking a step back from "the ball" and giving
ourselves some sense of distance from it.
Which means we are now effectively "looking at it" from a small distance away, rather than being surrounded by it and it
being a part of us as it was before.
Which means we are now also completely free to realize that it is really just a construction that has come together over
time, and it doesn't actually have to be there at all. We're safe and in control here, free in our own calm and
silence.
So just step back a little from the ball of stress. Just feel as it floats there, separately, from you.
And now just watch as it slowly starts to unwind and come apart.
There's no need for it to be there. There's nothing tangible or physical holding it together.
So just let it unravel, and all the little "strands" that used to make it up, now free, can slowly drift away into the
emptiness.
You're free of it now.
Maybe it'll come back one day, maybe it won't. But if ever it does you can always just take a little more time for yourself,
"step away" from it again, and just watch and feel as it once again comes apart in the silence.
2. Gathering
So stay here as you are for now, floating quietly and safely in the stillness and peace.
After a while you might find that you can do some other interesting things while you're here.
Because if we've shown that we can step back and away from our problems and pressures, and then just let them naturally come
apart and disappear, then maybe we can also find new ways to explore around and through our other feelings.
Just as our stresses and negative emotions can be seen as a ball of energy that we can simply allow to disperse, so we can
also drift through our thoughts and "keep a look out for" things we wish we were feeling more often. These could be happier
senses of fun or strength or confidence, or perhaps a fond memory of a specific event, or even just a random positive
emotion.
If we can imagine it, then we can gather and build it up as a positive feeling during our time here. And there's no need to
actively try and find fully-formed happy emotions or positive memories straight away. In the same way that we saw how our
negative feelings can just unravel and float away when left alone in the silence, so we can also now just gently drift
through the silent space and almost passively feel as and when the more positive feelings and emotions begin to "wash over"
us. Simply ignore the remnants of any bad feelings and let them fade into the emptiness. Then as and when you feel something
you like, just naturally let it stay with you. A few moments later you might find another good feeling, and then another, and
so on. You may eventually build up a positive emotion, or memory, or experience exactly as you had initially hoped, or you
may find it turns out to be something else entirely that has come together as a happy accident. The great thing about all of
this is that you're free to just keep hold of whatever you like.
3. Travelling
Some people have even told us they can get a sense as if they're travelling to other physical locations when they
use this type of thought technique. That they can journey back to favourite places they have visited in person, or even go to
explore more exotic destinations they've only seen on television or read about in books or online. Perhaps if it's possible
to get to a state of feeling where our sense of connection to our current physical setting is almost "ethereal" and
non-permanent, then it's also possible that we could eventually create a similar sense of connection with pretty much any
place (or time) we can imagine, allowing ourselves to travel limitlessly as we drift through the silent ether as free
spirits.
You can go wherever you wish from here, be it real or imagined. You can be whoever you wish while you are doing so.
And you can take as much or as little time as you need.
This is what we are referring to when we use the word "Eltyesen" - a moment of indefinite length when our state of inner
thought and our sense of our physical reality are effectively the same thing, and we can choose to take or leave the elements
that make up both however we see fit.
4. Strengthening
There are almost limitless possibilities for us all here. Just as we can now travel wherever we want, real or imagined, when
we're in Eltyesen, so we can also choose which aspects of ourselves we want to bring back with us for our return
home. We can imagine and find, and then add or remove, or strengthen or lessen, whatever we like, to the extent of changing
how we actually feel about ourselves when we come back to the physical world.
So in much the same way as we could easily keep hold of the happier thoughts and emotions as they washed over us before, we
can now also "pick up" some extra feelings of energy and self-confidence, and memories of success as they pass by, and use
these to build a more outgoing and assertive version of ourselves. Likewise, while many of us will have previously lived
through some difficult moments in our lives, we don't really need to "keep hold" of any feelings of self-doubt and
self-criticism from any of our failures or losses of confidence in the past. Just let these too drift away into the
emptiness, as we did with our feelings of stress and anguish previously.
There will always be some limits as to what we can physically achieve back in our day-to-day world, and the kind of reactions
we can inspire in other people. There is however a great deal we can do in terms of our own assertiveness,
preparedness and emotional approach to these things. We can use our journeys to Eltyesen to calm ourselves during difficult
times, and then to explore freely into different feelings and experiences, and then finally to "return home" with a
significantly enhanced sense of inner strength and personal energy.
Please use these techniques with caution, and think about your relationships with other people when you come back to
normality. The emotions and character aspects that may be very useful when giving an inner boost for our self-confidence, or
a streamlined focus on our personal aims, could also potentially turn out to be abrasive and counter-productive if made overt
in our interactions with others. Be careful when using your new abilities, however exciting it might be to know about their
(and your) new potential.
While there are many similar experiences and feelings shared by everyone who goes to Eltyesen, we notice also that because we
are all fundamentally at least slightly different from one another, so we all also end up finding Eltyesen to be slightly
different places. We can all make our own new worlds from here, and it's of great interest for us at the project to think
about what you all will be able to make from it.
You will probably have noticed by now that we like to talk about how our existence when we're here (in terms of the feelings
we experience and the the places we go to, and even our sense of ourselves) can be defined as "bundles" of
ethereal "strands" that we can simply allow to come together, or come apart, as we wish.
We feel as if these "strands" are to be found all around us here in Eltyesen, and they can be gathered and made up to form
anything and everything we can imagine. We also believe that we all, both when we're in Eltyesen and also when we're back
home in our day-to-day physical reality, can be seen as being made up from our own personal combinations of these same
universal strands that can be found anywhere and everywhere.
So perhaps we're not just able to create anything we wish, or go anywhere we wish, or be anyone we wish when we're in
Eltyesen. Perhaps we can also see ourselves as part of all those things and even the entirety of the outside world
and universe we experience because, on a basic fundamental level, everything is made from the same universal fabric. What we
refer to as "strands", others might call "emanations", or "strings", or "quanta".
Again (and, hopefully, obviously), we're not trying to claim that journeying to Eltyesen will give us all some sort of
magical ability to make overt, tangible changes to our everyday physical worlds upon our return. However, a significant
amount of current scientific investigation is thinking in terms of relatively flexibly-defined "quantum" connections between
physical elements and forces, sometimes across vast distances, and possibly even between different dimensions of
time and space.
Perhaps starting to think about these ethereal links and constructions in our personal thought space will turn out to be a
healthy and possibly prescient way of thinking for all our futures. We have given ourselves some freedom and expansion of our
inner spirits during our journey to Eltyesen today, allowing us to do and be whatever we want in our thoughts and dreams.
Maybe our journeys through our imaginations in the present day will also turn out to be useful preparation for our physical
journeys and creations in the spaces of the future.
Anyway that remains to be seen, and is for another time. For now we have at the very least taken a relaxing, fun and
potentially useful time here for ourselves.
5. Returning
When you feel that you're ready to "come home" again just gradually let the different strands and bundles you're currently
experiencing dissipate and drift away into the distance, so you can go back once again to the simple feeling of silence and
tranquillity we had earlier on.
Now do the counted breathing as we did before at the end of Section Two - slowly breathe in and then each time you breathe
out count your outward breaths until you get to a count of ten or so, gently bringing yourself back to your normal life.
Open your eyes, sit for a while and take some deep (and, if you like, louder) breaths. Hopefully you will have returned home
with some new and more positive feelings and perspectives.
Enjoy the journey, and then come back to your regular life. Live well.
Thank you for coming to visit us today, and taking the time to read through our website. This is the end of our journey
together for now, but we are constantly researching further into our methods and we have some very exciting ideas for the
future of the project that we hope to share in the not-too-distant future. For now we hope it has been interesting and
helpful to you, and that you enjoyed our time together.
Please take our best wishes and hopes with you for your time back home, and please know that you can always come back to
visit Eltyesen, however your current real-life situation may be, and whenever and wherever you are.
Feel free and enlightened in the future, because it can be hopeful and beautiful for all of us.
